The Pygmalion Effect
The Pygmalion Effect also known as the Rosenthal Effect describes how expectations shape our behavior for good or for bad.
This means that the greater the expectation placed on someone the better they perform. So if I place high expectations on my students; then they will perform phenomenal in order to live up to the expectations.
However, there must be a negative side to this as well. So that means; If I have low expectations on my students, then they will live up to my expectations.
DID YOU KNOW:
The “Law of Expectation” is a law of the universe.
We sometimes put curses on people with our words when we say things like, ” you’re going to be just like so & so”. Instead of putting low expectations on our friends, family and other beings; let’s expect the best.
Why not expect the best, if you get what you expect?
