Located in the neck, the thyroid gland is responsible for producing hormones that regulate the body’s metabolism. Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland) can cause fatigue, dry skin, poor memory, and weight gain.
In order to lose weight, sometimes you must consider more than just the typical reasons behind weight gain. Obesity is usually linked to factors like: stress, fatigue and environmental toxins.

Once you’ve determined what your daily calorie intake should be according to your height, age and level of physical activity; you can begin to reduce your daily calorie count, knowing that every time you reach a reduction of 3,500 calories, there will be one pound of fat lost.
To lose one lbs./ week – you need to cut 500 calories each day
To lose one lbs. / every 2 weeks – you need to cut your calories down by 250 calories each day
Too many calories from any source; even a low-fat calories will create extra lbs.
Recently, low-carb diets have been the HYPE, which claim to help people shed weight quickly. However, studies show this method to be no more effective than a low-fat diet after about six months, and it is tough to maintain on a long-term basis. It has a heavy reliance on protein and meat products which can be unhealthy in high amounts.
Fad diets may be very successful initially, but if you don’t realize the complex reasons behind your weight problem; you will forever be yo-yo dieting which is both depressing and unhealthy.
