Function of Protein

Protein takes up about 20% of the body weight and is the primary component of muscles, hair, skin, eyes, nails and internal organs.

Functions of Protein:

  1. Carrying oxygen to the tissues

  2. Regulating water in cells

  3. Normalizing acid-alkaline balance by acting as buffers

  4. Forming all enzymes that spark metabolism

  5. Building and repairing tissues

Now you can see why a protein deficiency can cause many issues in the body. It’s no doubt that we need protein.
