Can you really Multi-Task?

People can actually do two or more things at once (walk/talk) but what we can’t do is focus on two things at once.

A change in thought every 14 seconds is an invitation to change direction.

Can you really switch back and forth between tasks easily without being affected in some shape or form? The answer is NOOO SWAY!

Multitasking is neither effective or efficient.

It always takes some time to start a new task and restart the one you quit; and there’s no guarantee that you’ll ever pick up exactly where you left off.

The cost in terms of “extra time” from having to task switch depends on how complex or simple the take are.

Did You Know:

Just from task switching;

  1. Time for completing simple task increases up to 25% percent

  2. Time for completing more complicated task increases well to over 100% percent

Overall, you are using more of your time trying to do too many things at once.

Even though we’re able to process different kinds of data in different parts of our brain. You’re not really focused on both activities.

One is happening in the foreground and the other in the background.

You can do two things at once but you can’t focus on two things at once.
